Lazy Kind of Day!
I had several things on my to-do list today. Things like…
- Finish editing for the publishing company.
- Complete the first draft of my prologue.
- Laundry.
- Clean up my emails.
- Complete the marketing questionnaire for the publishing company.
- Write my blog before noon.
- Go to the gym.
- Play a little ESO with my sister.
Can you guess what did and didn’t happen?
Only two things actually happened from this list today:
- Laundry.
- Playing ESO with my sister for the majority of the day.
I did write this piece (you’re reading it, so clearly I did write it). But I didn’t finish it before noon.
So… today was a lazy kind of day. Is there anything wrong with having a lazy day?
No, we need them. Every now and again, it’s good to take a day off… from almost everything.
I got everyone fed either before I started gaming or during a break. Laundry was done during short breaks. Dogs were let out during short breaks. Dinner was made and eaten during a break.
I had fun gaming with my sister, even though she is in another state. We were able to connect and have fun together.
Spending a day relaxing, playing, reading, and doing things that are not on your list of “to-do” is okay.
As my day is starting to wind down — or up (I am a night owl and tend to do more after midnight) — I’m accepting that I didn’t get very much done. But I’m not going to be upset with myself.
I will have to do more tomorrow to make up for my down day, but I’m still okay with my Sunday.
So, I want to ask you… do you ever take a full day off? When you do, do you get upset or down on yourself for having a lazy day? Why is it considered taboo to take a down day?
So, let’s give ourselves permission to have lazy or down days.
Permission has been given… at least I give myself permission. You will have to give yourself permission. Sound good?
Have a great week, and may it be filled with hugs, love, laughter, and blessings.
Goodnight!😴
