Looking Ahead with Intention
Oh wow—there are only three more days left in 2025 (not counting today since it’s almost 11:00 p.m.).
I’ve been thinking a lot about this coming year and the changes I not only want to make, but some I truly have to make.
One of the biggest is taking my health more seriously. I’ve been working out with my friend Mary, and we both have some major goals when it comes to weight reduction and overall well-being.
I’m also going to take pampering myself a little more seriously. Some of that pampering is actually helpful. For example… a few of my nails have split (part of the thyroid issue). To help them grow out, I had them done. I’ve been told by several people that having them professionally done with a special gel will hopefully keep them from splitting and allow them to grow out properly.
Another example… possibly getting a facial, massage, or pedicure every other month. These are just a few examples of what I consider pampering.
For me, I’m also using this as a reward system. If I manage to work out at least five days each week—whether that’s at the gym or at home—some form of pampering will be my reward.
My other reward—and the more important one—will be feeling better and, fingers crossed🤞, looking better too.
This past week has brought several things to light that I will be working on:
- Dating die-sasters
- Me
- My goals
- Marketing my books and myself
- Making money through my books, art, and other avenues that support my dreams without taking away from them
- Oh… finding a literary agent
Honestly, I have a long list, but these are my top six.
Now, what are your goals for this next year? Not New Year’s resolutions—we rarely stick with those. I’m talking about goals, and there is a difference.
Definition (per Google):
Resolutions are broad, often vague promises to change (e.g., “eat healthier”), while goals are specific, actionable, and measurable steps to achieve an outcome.
When setting goals—or even resolutions—make sure they’re doable. Don’t make them too hard. Make sure they’re obtainable. Think small: five minutes of stretching, ten minutes of reading—something easy enough that you’ll keep going and failure isn’t an option.
As you reflect on this last month—or even this last week of 2025—do your best to think of it fondly, no matter how hard it was. We’ve made it through another year. The good, the bad, and everything in between.
Reflect with love and wish it well—no negative energy. Just send it on its way with love.
2026 is a new beginning. Like every morning, every second of every day is as well—but this new year, especially, is going to be an awesome year.
I’m ready for a fabulous year… what about you?
Till later… fill it with hugs, love, laughter, and tons of blessings.
Goodnight!
P.S. I’ve added a few pictures of gym days. Please don’t laugh… I already did.
