Life Happens—And Then We Start Again 🤷♀️
Hello and happy almost Monday!
I wanted to wait until after I had gone to the gym to post this.
During Thanksgiving week, I wasn’t able to exercise for a few reasons. Between family staying with us, my knee bothering me, and—well—my eyes (it’s hard to drive when your vision is blurry), it just didn’t happen. Then, while I was in Texas, I wasn’t able to exercise either. I was going up and down steps and shopping with my sister (that should be counted as exercise), but I didn’t count it.
Now that I’m back in town, I’m ready to make a full commitment to getting in shape—dropping excess weight, exercising, and, well, taking a lot better care of myself.
I recently signed up for the AlterMe app, and I really like it. It uses my DNA to analyze my nutrition, sleep, meditation, and workouts. I also joined Planet Fitness yesterday. My friend and I were going, and I was on her guest pass, but I wasn’t able to use the red-light machine, the massage chair, or the hydro bed. So, I decided if I’m going to do this right, I want the full deal—and I joined.
Today, I was able to get into the red-light machine (I call it the red room), the massage chair (twice), and the hydro bed. Well worth the monthly dues, especially if I use it at least three or four times a week.
Why am I telling you all this? Because I’m going to be posting my progress at least once a week—maybe twice. I’ll be posting pictures, too.
I’ll also talk about the various exercises I’m doing—everything from cardio and strength training to dance and face yoga. If you have any recommendations, ideas, or questions, I’d love to hear them.
