VA Visit, Early Mornings, and Productivity!

Today has an overcast look, and it’s been rainy most of the morning. Surprisingly, it has been a productive day. Starting off with getting a little over 8 hours of sleep (which is rare). Not going to say it was solid sleep— I did get up twice to visit a certain room, but I was able to go right back to sleep with no issue.

Once up and everyone fed, I felt the need to paint. So, I did. I painted a tree—not my best tree, but still a tree. It satisfied my desire to paint. Then I sat down and started writing, working on my novel. That felt good, and I will be going back to that after I say hello and give you this short update.

Yesterday, I drove (you know I’m not fond of driving anymore) to someone’s house in BFE to practice singing for the VA nursing home performances. I am looking forward to it, but again, I just wish it wasn’t so dang early. The first set tomorrow will be at 8:30 a.m., the second around 9:30 a.m., and then we will be having lunch with them—with one last performance around 1:00 p.m.

Tomorrow will be a long day, especially since I’m not used to getting up and being out of the house by 7:30 a.m. if I can avoid it. But I’ll be up early enough to feed everyone and still get to the VA Nursing Home by about 8:15. Also, I learned today that we’re not just there to sing—there’s a whole list of activities we’re supposed to do. I wouldn’t have minded if I had known ahead of time, but finding out the night before is not the way to let someone know.

Well, I want to get to bed early and still write a bit more on my novel, so this will be an extremely short post. Please say a little prayer that my voice holds out. It’s been a long time since I sang in front of a crowd, and my voice isn’t quite ready for this.

I’m wishing each of you a wonderful week, filled with hugs, love, laughter, and blessings.
