Missed my self-set deadline to get my blog posted on time. Why did I miss it, you may ask?
I slipped… I was doing really well with my schedule—going to bed early and getting up at a decent time—except for the last few days, which means I slipped back into my old bad habits.
Today started off great (well after I got up—late). Once up, I made breakfast for my sweetheart, then fed the dogs, washed the dishes that can only be hand-washed, cleaned up the recycling, exercised, and then I finally ate breakfast. Since I flubbed up the past three days, I was hoping to get back on track today. Keyword: “was.”
I sat down, planning to meditate again—guess what happened? Yep, I fell asleep.
That was definitely not supposed to happen. My schedule went out the window… again.
I did get all my goals completed and worked on my upcoming book and yesterday’s blog post. Well, now today’s.
Anyway, what do you do when your plans or schedule—be it for a day, a week, however long—go up in smoke? Do you restart the next day? Do you wait a few days and then restart? Rethink your schedule and make a new one? Or do you toss it out completely and just give up?
I’ve considered tossing mine and creating a new one, but I think I’m going to stick with this one. This schedule doesn’t have strict time constraints. If I have an appointment, meeting, or class, then that is set, but as for my daily to-do list (morning routine, writing, art, fun time, evening routine, house duties… etc.), there’s no set time—just as long as I get everything done within the day.
It works IF I get a solid start to my day and can avoid distractions (social media primarily—animal videos… black holes of baby animals, and I’m a goner). Which is also kind of happened today after I snapped out of my brief nap. Today’s downfall? Kittens and baby goats.
Tomorrow is a new day and a fresh start for my schedule. My focus will be on Dangerous Desires, my Toastmasters Club’s Full Circle Award tracking sheet, calling Toastmasters International, hopefully, to fix some educational issues they seem to be having with their Pathways program, and planning out three art pieces I need to complete. One is for the winner of a silent auction, another is a surprise for an acquaintance, and the last is for an art challenge.
If you have suggestions or ideas for staying on track, I’d love to hear them! Your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions are always welcome.
Till next time—have a great week filled with love, laughter, hugs, and many blessings. Goodnight!
