Ringing In The 2025 New Year and New Goals

Hello and Happy Holidays, Everyone!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and was able to be with loved ones. I mentioned that this was my first Christmas ever with my sister and, in turn, also her family. This includes my mini-me, whom I miss terribly already (crazy energy and all).

It is times like these that make me wish I could find a way to live longer, healthier, and pretty much be immortal—all while looking marvelous. 😂!

I’d like to think that I spent quality time with my niece and my nephew while there, he is now 19. God, he grew up way too fast, as my niece is also doing, she is 8 but going on 13. I dislike missing so much precious time with them. Moving could be in our future ~ could not definite.

My sister and I have some ideas for a YouTube channel in 2025. We just have to get motivated to start on the details and learn how to actually put together the show. Yes, I know there are classes for that, and we will have to watch them.

Other than that, I have quite a few hopes, wishes, dreams, and definitely goals for 2025. As some of you know, I am in a goals group. I’m pretty sure (not completely positive—still have two ½ days left of the quarter) that this will be the third set of quarterly goals that I have managed to have 0 to 3 misses, which means the funds will go to my charity. I am still working on my quarterly goal, which is to have three art pieces (prints) ready to be put on the Trellis and Vine website by 11:58 on December 31st. I have two and am still working on the third. Although, I may change out one or both of the others, which means I really need to get a move on it. I will also put them on my website once everything is completed.

But for now, here are some of my ideas for the new year and new quarter goals. Oh, and I don’t do New Year’s Resolutions. The goals group is more than enough and much better as far as keeping things accountable.

Here are my goal ideas:

Daily Goals:

  1. 10 minutes of drawing each day toward sketches for one of my children’s books that I want to release in 2025. They can even be stick figures if need be.
  2. 5 minutes of exercise each day (doesn’t matter what, just some sort of exercise).
  3. 10 minutes of reading (audiobooks count).
  4. 5 minutes of some sort of decluttering (house, closet, emails, apps, anything).

Weekly Goal:

  1. 15 minutes of meditation and red-light therapy (great for the skin).
  2. 15 minutes of educational learning (video, audio, or even in-person class).

Monthly Goals:

(None)

Quarterly Goals:

  1. To have at least four sketches completed for one of my children’s books and sent to my illustrator.
  2. One YouTube script or outline completed and accepted by my partner (my sister).
  3. One box (large) of things (clothes, jewelry, whatever) that can be donated, thrown away if broken, or recycled. I hate throwing things away when someone else might be able to use them or recycle them.

I know that five, ten, or fifteen minutes don’t seem like much but it’s a starting point. I want to set myself up for success, and I rarely do the minimal time, especially when it comes to art, reading, or writing. Once I get going, each may turn into hours of that activity – it’s the getting started that matters the most for me. Exercise is a different story. With some of the health hiccups I’ve had, I want to make sure that I can do at least five minutes even if I am not feeling well. Stretching here and there counts and takes at least a few minutes. Remember, it is a start.

As for my dreams, hopes, and wishes, I’ll share those next time. I don’t want to keep you too long during the holiday season.

Now you know my goals for the next three months beginning on January 1st, 2025, ~ what are some of yours?

Please share your feedback, thoughts, and ideas. I’m happy to hear from you. With that, I hope you all have a Happy New Year, and may it be filled with everything good for you in the coming year.

Till next year, hugs, love, laughter, and blessings each day.🥰
