“Because sometimes inspiration screams from the next table over.”
Hello and happy midweek!
I’ve been on a strange — and warped, as it may sound — morbid writing quest.
I’m working on Dating Die-Sasters again and I’ve been rewriting some of my characters. I’ve started with some of the death scenes.
Some of you may remember that a few months ago my Sweetheart and I were at our favorite local coffee shop on a Sunday morning. While we were there, a woman came in talking on her phone. Her phone was on speaker, and she was talking quite loudly — as was the person on the other line. This was an annoyance to all in the coffee shop, yet she did not care. I had headphones on, music blaring, and I could still hear almost every word of their conversation.
Was I perturbed? You bet I was. I turned and looked at her only to get a wicked, nasty look in return. Turning back to my Sweetheart, I said, “She shall die in one of my next books.”
Guess what I’ve been writing? You got it — the loud coffee-shop lady. Plotting her demise and adding a new character or two has occupied my thoughts these past few days. Those have also been put on paper, so to say.
I’ve put new faces on a few of my characters, hopefully making them more desirable in some ways. I can give you a peek into a few. What I’ve done is find actors and actresses that I want my characters to resemble in looks, and some even in mannerisms or personality traits (that I’ve picked up on from interviews/movies/shows/etc.).
My female lead, Anna Marie, will resemble Sela Ward — why? Because she is a beautiful woman not only in looks but in personality as well. Her sister will resemble Rita Wilson — she has a fun, sweet, open personality. Both are people I could see being friends with.
I feel these two will be a strong female front against the several cryptids residing in the Dismal Swamp for this hopeful trilogy. At least four — maybe more — scary beings will cause havoc in the town of Skelmorlie, VA.
With that, I’ll leave you to go create more of my Dating Die-Sasters world. Have a great week — I will talk with you again on Sunday.
Till then, may your days be filled with hugs, love, laughter, and blessings.
Goodnight!
