Delays… Delays… Delays
Yes, I’m talking about writing delays.
Procrastination is one thing — but when your whole day is wiped out by food poisoning or a bad reaction to something you ate? That’s a crappy (pun intended) delay.
That’s exactly what happened yesterday. My entire day was a wash thanks to some suspicious food. What’s worse? I even questioned it while I was making it… and again while eating it. I should’ve listened to my gut—literally and figuratively!
I’m feeling better now, though.
As for editing—well, it’s going to be temporarily on hold. I’ve decided to finish the ending of the manuscript and send it off to the beta readers without doing a full first-round edit. Once I receive at least three responses, I’ll dive back into editing with fresh insight.
Anyway, tonight is moving slowly, and this post will be short and sweet. I just wanted to say hello, let you know I didn’t forget about you, and promise to write more on Sunday.
And speaking of Sunday — I’ll probably have a flyer ready for an upcoming event hosted by my Toastmasters club, Harpeth View Toastmasters. It’s an unofficial contest and should be a lot of fun! If you’d like to attend, we’d love to have you visit—either in person or online.

What is a 3-in-1 Contest?
It’s a creative twist on the traditional Toastmasters format—combining elements of Table Topics, Evaluation, and International Speech contests into one fun, fast-paced event.
How it works:
- All contestants receive the same topic (like Table Topics).
- You’ll have a limited time to prepare (like Evaluation).
- Then deliver a 5–7-minute speech (like International).
Whether you’re a seasoned speaker or brand new to Toastmasters, this is a great opportunity to grow, connect, and have a blast.
Till next time, have a great week—and may it be filled with hugs, laughter, love, and blessings. 💖
