Wow! This weekend totally got away from me — on several levels.
Staying up way too late, then napping off and on all day? That kind of rhythm throws everything off. Time feels warped, plans slip through the cracks, and everything starts to feel a little wacky… a little off course… and, honestly, kind of like crap.
My to-do list only got halfway completed, and a few of my bigger goals didn’t even get started. But—I did keep up with the daily and weekly goals I’ve set with my goals group, so that’s a Yea!
I’d been doing pretty well, going to bed earlier… then I slipped and fell off the “asleep-before-2:00 a.m.” ladder.
Good thing each day is a new beginning, huh?
What Are You Telling the Universe (God/Goddess/Buddha/YOU)?
This past week, I spoke pretty loudly to the Universe—not just with words, but with action.
I’ve always wanted to travel the world. To go to Europe, see the lands of my ancestors, walk the ley lines of ancient energy, eat clean, delicious food, and soak up the beauty and wonder of it all.
Here are some of the places on my dream list: Italy, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Greece, New Zealand, Portugal, and France.
If I could move, I’d probably choose Italy (because yes—I am a pasta and bread kind of girl).
Though to be fair, I think I’d be happy in any of those places. ChatGPT even suggested Portugal, for its good medical system, clean non-GMO foods, and overall reputation as a welcoming place for mature people to retire. (It’s officially on my radar now.)
I’ve done a little traveling here in the States, and there’s still more to explore, but… it’s like my soul is reaching out for farther shores. I feel pulled to go.
So… what did I do?
I applied for my passport.
That may not sound huge to some, but for me — it was major.
I’ve also been watching travel-tip videos, and rewatching movies and shows that take place in some of the places I long to go: Emily in Paris, Under the Tuscan Sun, Letters to Juliet, and others.
I even started Duolingo—beginning with Italian, of course. After that? I’ll probably toss a coin between French, Greek, German, or Portuguese.
Honestly, getting my passport might be the loudest declaration I’ve made in a long time.
And next?
I’ll be shouting even louder—for a publishing company that doesn’t take a year to publish a book. (Open to international publishers, too!)
I’ve also been working—little by little—on my health. Because when I do travel, I want to be in the best space to enjoy every single moment.
So I Ask You…
What are you telling the Universe you want?
Do you want to travel?
Start a business?
Create something beautiful that’s been sitting quietly in your heart?
Sometimes, we’re sending signals we don’t even realize.
And sometimes, the signals we do send aren’t lined up with what we truly want.
This also ties into what we’re telling ourselves.
Because your body, mind, spirit—your subconscious—listens. It hears you when you say, “This is going to be a crappy day.”
And guess what? It likely will be.
But if you start with something like, “Today is going to be fabulous,” then even if something not-so-great happens, it doesn’t carry the same weight.
Positivity doesn’t erase challenges — but it can soften their sting.
What we say — to ourselves and about ourselves — matters.
There’s a book I return to now and then to remind me of that:
The Game of Life and How to Play It by Florence Scovel Shinn.
It’s a short but powerful read, one I highly recommend and reread often.
Till next time, may your days be filled with hugs, love, laughter, and blessings—and may you send a message to the Universe that is loud, clear, and beautifully you. 💫
