Where the Characters Lead Me: The Final Chapters šŸ“–

Hello and Happy Mid-Week!

I almost opened this post with something close to what Lady Whistledown says to greet her readers. For those who may not know, she’s a character from Netflix’s Bridgerton series. I’m a huge fan and often wonder how best to start each week’s blog. I don’t want to bore you—or repeat myself too much.

Needless to say, I adore Lady Whistledown and the way she begins her paper with ā€œDear Gentle Readerā€ or ā€œDearest Reader.ā€ Then she dives into the latest gossip of the ton, changing lives—some for the better, and some… not so much.

But on to today’s topic: Focused on the Ending.

What do I mean by that, you wonder? Well, I’m getting so close to finishing Dangerous Desires that all I seem to want to do is write! I estimate I have only about four, maybe five chapters left. Some might think that’s a lot—but it’s really not.

I’ve reached the point where writing feels like reading a brand-new book. You only have a few chapters left, and you have to know what happens next. You don’t want to put it down—just like I don’t want to stop writing. Not even to work on a speech, an article for our Toastmasters District newsletter, or… yes, even this blog!

I’m so excited to see where my characters take me—and eventually take you, dear reader. Right now, my protagonist Ashley is in peril, and I can’t wait to help her find her way to safety.

Reaching the end is thrilling… and then comes the editing! I’ve already lined up six beta readers and am hoping to find four more. But if I don’t? That’s okay. Six is much better than none—and I’ll also have one or two editors involved.

So, I’ll wrap up this short post now so I can help one of my characters make it to the next page of her story.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Until next time, may your days be filled with hugs, love, laughter, and blessings.

Goodnight! 😓
