When the Muse Takes a Day Off: Rabbit Holes, Cryptids, and Creative Sparks

Happy Wednesday—or Hump Day, as some say, since it’s the middle of the week.

It used to be that when I went into an office, Wednesdays felt like the longest day of the week. Now that I work from home, the length of the day depends on the lack of inspiration, how many (and what kind of) rabbit holes I go down, and such. Those are the long days.

Today was one of those kinds of days.
I started off okay, then took a break. Someone sent me a video, so I watched it… and then another popped up, and I watched that too… and then another. Then I went on my own video binge of cryptids and strange things happening.

There went my day.

I did get some writing in—and I’m writing to you now—but it’s been a long day.

I think we need these kinds of days sprinkled into our months. They help us appreciate the days when we’re productive or inspired.

I think my muse took the day off—though I’m not exactly sure who or what it is.

But today wasn’t a complete waste. I learned a few things from those videos, like how most parchment papers we use for cooking are loaded with “forever things”—bad chemicals that stay in our bodies forever. So, not a total time drain.

With that, this is a short post because I’ve been absolutely in love with writing my novel.

Yesterday, I wrote my first extremely steamy scene 😏, and now that I’ve come up with an idea for the ending, I’m dying to know how it all wraps up. Since I’m not reading it to get to the ending—I have to write it—LOVE THAT!

Anyway, have a great rest of your week. I’ll touch base on Sunday.

Until then, may your days be filled with hugs, love, laughter, and blessings.
Goodnight!
