Exhausted, Inspired — and Needing to Apologize!

This weekend is finally over! I feel like I talked more these past few days than I have in the past month combined. As the spokesperson for four contests, I had fun — and I talked a whole, whole lot — not only during the contests but also before and after each one, and late into the night both Friday and Saturday.
I really enjoyed meeting people I’d only seen on Zoom, as well as new members. I also learned a few things about myself — like the fact that I’m a bit more humorous than I ever thought I could be!
I loved being the MC, possibly even more than being a contestant. I can give a speech almost anytime, anywhere, if I really choose to, but MC’ing for a large event doesn’t come along all that often. If I could make a profession out of being an MC — along with being an author and artist, of course — I totally would.

Not only was this weekend exhaustingly fun, but it was also inspiring. I came away with a few fresh ideas for speeches. It’s been a while since I’ve actually wanted to write a speech and then get up and give it. So, you can expect to see me giving a couple of speeches in the upcoming months!

Now, back to reality. Along with writing those speeches, I’ll be buckling down on finishing Dangerous Desires and doing a better job of posting my blogs on time.
Which brings me to where I need to apologize: I missed posting yesterday. When we got home from the weekend, I laid down for a short nap — and it turned into an overly long one! I didn’t get much done after that, other than finishing my final class art project. (Well, not fully finished — just finished enough for class.)
I plan to go back and draw the animals and other elements instead of leaving them as they are, which right now is more of a mixed-media combination of paint and collage. Once I’ve completed the final version, I’ll share photos of the before and after!

This next year, although Toastmasters’ year officially begins July 1st (with officer terms starting mid-June), things are going to get busy. I’ll do my best to keep you posted on all the fun — and the not-so-fun — moments as they come. A few trips are already planned, and hopefully there will be more to come!

Well, it’s getting late, so I’ll leave you with this thought:
If you find something you enjoy doing, do it.
As long as you don’t hurt or kill anyone or anything in the process — do it. Life is extremely precious and should be enjoyed.

Have a great night! Till next time, may your time be filled with hugs, love, laughter, and blessings.
