Today has been a good day. We had a storm last night, which meant I slept deeply. I love storms. Back home in Kentucky, I would sit outside and watch the lightning dance across the sky, accompanied by the rolling sounds of thunder. Now, I enjoy sleeping to the sound of thunder—I find it soothing. Of course, I’m someone who, as a child, slept through the April 3rd tornado in the ‘70s.
Anyhow, back to today. Once I finished taking care of the dogs, we went to our local coffee shop, where I spent time working on Dangerous Desires.
I also remembered something I forgot to include in my Wednesday blog—the lies we’re told about recycling by establishments like airports. While I was in Texas, I placed an empty bottle into a recycling bin, thinking I was doing my part. BUT, just as I was about to walk away, an airport employee came by, checked the bin, and proceeded to dump its contents straight into the garbage.
I stared at him like he was crazy and asked, “So, the airport doesn’t actually recycle?”
His answer? “No, we don’t.”
A bit upset, I couldn’t hold my tongue and said, “That is BULLSHIT!” He just shrugged, and I walked off.
It reminded me of our local coffee shop, which used to have a recycling bin. But when I asked about it, they admitted they didn’t actually recycle, so they just removed the bins altogether.
Do I wish these places actually recycled? YES! But at the very least, don’t lie about it!
Now, I’ll stop my rant and get back to my good day.
When we got home, I managed to squeeze in an 18-minute meditation, completed 30 minutes of exercise on my bike, and spent some time watching my favorite YouTube videos (paranormal research, of course!). I’ve also knocked out all of my weekly and daily goals.
My sweetheart and I had some quality time together yesterday and today. I told him that we must have a dedicated movie/TV night at least once a week now. One of the shows we watched sparked a great intellectual conversation—I love watching the wheels turn in his head. He’s incredibly smart, and our deep conversations are one of my favorite things about him.
On top of that, I’ve finally figured out how to get a grip on my schedule—Yeah, me! I also talked with my illustrator and editor to get everything ready for the upcoming Author Con. (I’ll include the flyer and link below.)
So yes, today has been a great day! And it’s far from over. I’m going to take a break from writing, finish up a little art, and maybe play a game or dive back into Dangerous Desires.
I have to say… I’m having fun writing again—AND I LOVE IT!
Now… go have a great week and do something you love. May your days be filled with love, laughter, hugs, and blessings!
