Poetry and Weekly Goals Update

This week has been interesting. I’ve spent a good portion of it questioning myself about a very important decision regarding my health. I’m not ready to elaborate just yet. The rest of the week followed my regular schedule of taking care of the dogs, my Sweetheart, goals, art projects/drawing, and class. Other than health concerns, it’s been a good week. Starting a new charcoal project this week as well.

I’ve kept all my goals, meaning I missed zero. We are coming close to the end of the quarter, and it looks like my charity will be receiving the “goal’s money pot”. For those who are not familiar with our goal group consequences, what happens is at the end of the quarter we add up all of our missed days. Each missed day equals a dollar, and the one with the least missed goal days gives the pot to the charity of their choice. Last quarter it went to my choice, which was Walden’s Puddle Wild Animal Rescue. This quarter, it will be the Senior Dog Sanctuary.

I’ve also enjoyed writing poetry for class. I never really thought I would be good at writing poetry, but I’m having fun and I’ve received good feedback from other students and the professor. Below is one of my poems from class. This one is based on the views of the animals in a zoo. If you think about things from their perspective, and see things through their eyes, imagine what they feel.

Caged Eyes

People pass, uncaring eyes,
Clueless to our pain, extinction draws near.
Misguided conscience, delusional truths,
People pass, uncaring eyes,
Silence spoken, mindless views,
Knowledge lacking, ill-informed parades,
People pass, uncaring eyes,
Clueless to our pain, extinction draws near.

Let me know what you think and take care of yourselves.

Have a fabulous week, and I will touch base with you again on Sunday.

Fill your week with lots of hugs, love, laughter, and blessings.🌻
