Highly Recommend!💕

Hello and Wonderful Sunday!

This week has sort of flown by. First, with Creative Writing classes on Mondays and Wednesdays, which I am really enjoying. It is a small class of seven, including myself, and various ages. Great ideas blossom in this class, and voices are shared. Our professor is open-minded, interesting to listen to, and great to discuss items with. Informative and downright nice, I hope he has other classes next semester that I would find interesting. I do recommend his classes.

Next recommendation: The Spine Bookshop. A nice, quaint little bookshop located in the reviving area of Smyrna. The owner is a great supporter and promoter of local authors. It’s a fun and friendly place to find your next good read.

For local artists, I have two recommendations:

             • Trellis & Vine, located in the older part of Smyrna. They have artist showcases, sales, and workspaces for rent. Currently showing Adam Sain and his “Coffee & Friends” collection.

            •  Monthaven Arts & Cultural Center, located in Hendersonville, TN. About a 30 to 40-minute drive for us but well worth it. Currently, up until October 13, 2024, they have one of my favorite artists on exhibition: Salvador Dali’s “The Divine Comedy”. The entrance price is only $10. They recently had some of Picasso’s work there too. They also support local artists, with the works of local artist Lisa Jennings on display until September 29th. They are going to have an Art-Oberfest on Sunday, October 13th, from 11 am to 6 pm. They have a website to check out and are non-profit. Great place and friendly people. One of the art instructors, Brooke, was extremely friendly and helpful with all the questions I had about “glue.” Yes, glue. I’m trying to find a glue that will work with and on almost any material and will last for, hmmm, an eternity. She gave me some great tips and let me know about some upcoming events.

My friends, sweetheart, and I had a good time at the art gallery, and then a nice lunch at The Rudder. After a fun time with friends, my sweetie and I came home and played a new game, V-Rising, with my sister and her husband. Definitely a good day. Yesterday was also a good day. Our club, Harpeth View Toastmasters, had the club Humorous and Evaluation contests, and fun was had by all. Some great speakers and evaluators. Then several of us went to brunch at Sun and Fork – really good food.

Great week with quite a few gem finds, and now I’m ending by sharing the info with you.

Have a great week, go check out a few of the places, and let me know what you think. As for my class, it is at Motlow Community College in Smyrna. Higher education is a great way to keep the brain young.

Until next time, I wish you all a great week filled with love, laughter, hugs, and blessings. 🌻
