Creative Moments…

Today is a day I have to laugh at myself. It’s Tuesday, and I’m sitting at my GYN office. I arrived a little early (I usually get lost coming here, but today I FOUND IT! Yea, for me). Anyhow, he is apparently running behind because I have been able to get over 30 minutes of writing done. I worked on my Cozy Mystery I’m writing, did a little update on one of my children’s books, and now I’ve actually gotten a start on my blog for this week. I seem to be able to write almost anywhere except at home. I’m going to have to reconfigure my writing areas at home. I mean, when you get more done waiting for a doctor than you do at home ~ changes might need to be made.

As you’ve probably guessed, this post will span a few days. Maybe that is what I should do anyway, but for now ~ no more shoulding on myself. Oh, looks like I’m next. I’ll write more tomorrow while I wait at another doctor’s office. 🤣. At least I’m getting work done.

Wow, I’m realizing I get more done away from the house. 30 minutes of writing waiting at the GYN office, and 20 minutes at the Urologist. Plus, while there (Urologist) the tech and nurse were great and we started talking about my upcoming Cozy Mystery I’m writing and they were really interested. The ultrasound tech actually looked like she could be the daughter/granddaughter of the actress I’m using as reference for my lead female character, so I changed the name of the daughter of that character’s sister to reflect her name. I love hearing different names and of course I’m a people watcher. I look at almost everything… mannerisms, styles, eye contact, and listen to different dialects. I can’t wait to travel more and get more ideas. You never know you may just end up in one of my books.

Here is where I wish I was younger age-wise only.🤷🏼‍♀️

On Thursday, I went to the Dermatologist and again we were talking about my Cozy Mystery book. I now have another name to add to an upcoming book and a beta reader. They were great there too. I’m excited to finish writing my book so I can get it to my readers.

This week has been productive in several ways. I’ve written more, met and talked about my books, and just all around felt more creative. Not to mention excited to be me. When I would tell someone I’m a writer and artist, the Imposter Syndrome only reared its ugly head once. Usually, it pops up a few times during a conversation, but not this week. The self—doubt snake stayed in its burrow. (I’ll tell you about him another time or you can read an earlier post where I mention a speech I did called “Jungle Journey”. Anyhow…

Last night we were at a party for a friend’s graduation and I was again talking about my books and sharing tidbits of my book story, it was energizing. Plus, I made a new friend as well. Books, either reading them or writing them, help to create friendships. I’m so glad I’m part of both.

Well, I will leave you today with a quick update on the goals front… I have kept all my daily goals and as of this moment (actually in about 10 minutes once I publish) I will have also kept my weekly goal. I’m still working on putting together a plan or schedule for my days and to help make them flow better, more productively, and include health-oriented activities/diet too. I’ll let you know when, ‘not if’ I get it done.

I also want to say thank you to all the nurses, medical techs, receptionists, and doctors that have to put up with me (especially this week when my extrovert side was let loose). I appreciate the care you give. Thank you.

To conclude, I hope everyone has a wonderful week and it is filled with love, laughter, hugs, and blessings. Bye for now…🌻
