It’s been three days since I sent the rough draft of Dangerous Desires off to my beta readers.
I’ve been soaking up a little downtime since then—with a full-blown Gilmore Girls marathon (yes, I’ve made it all the way through Season 7). I’ve also been jotting down notes for future books and even started reworking Dating Die-Sasters. My creative brain didn’t get the memo about the break!
Honestly, I’m torn. I’m excited to hear feedback, but there’s also a nervousness in my chest or gut. I know revisions are coming. I’m hoping they won’t be major, but even small critiques can make you hold your breath. Grammar and punctuation? I’m good with those. But if someone doesn’t connect with the story itself? That hits differently.
So instead of spiraling, I’m choosing distraction—more Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, a few games, maybe even more plotting for the next project… or a speech.
And if you’re up early this Saturday and feel like a little inspiration, consider visiting my Toastmasters club. We’re hosting a contest and would love to see you there—virtually or in person!
