D. L. Nolan is a paranormal mystery and romance author based in Middle Tennessee, originally from Kentucky. Her stories are deeply immersed in the supernatural, blending suspense, emotion, and the unseen forces that bind souls together.
Under the name Dorey Lee, she is also a published children’s author, creating imaginative stories that share heartfelt lessons and inspire young readers.
In addition to writing, Dorey is a mixed media artist and photographer. Her artwork has been exhibited locally, and select pieces are available for purchase. Through visual art, and photographs she explores creativity in a different but equally expressive form.
Beyond her creative work, Dorey is a workshop facilitator and speaker, helping others realize that it is never too late to awaken — or reawaken — their dreams. Through guided reflection, storytelling, and encouragement, she inspires participants to reconnect with their creative passions and pursue them boldly. She is available for speaking engagements at events, libraries, conferences, and workshops.
She attended Motlow State Community College, earning an Associate of Arts degree. Dorey lives with her partner, Nick, and their four dogs, who are never far from her creative world.
An advocate for the environment and animal welfare, she draws inspiration from nature, quiet reflection, and meaningful connection. She enjoys cooking, participating in Toastmasters events and competitions, and continually challenging herself to grow as both a writer and speaker.
After more than twenty years of writing stories, she has fulfilled her long-held dream of becoming a published author and exhibiting artist. Her journey stands as proof that creativity has no age limit—and that dreams pursued with persistence and courage can become reality.
