An Inspiring Weekend at the Spine Bookshop Author Con (And A Sneak Peek)!🫣

Hello and Happy Sunday!

This was the weekend of the Spine Bookshop’s First Annual Author Con. They had panels set up covering various topics such as diversity, LGBTQ+, banned books, and more. There was an assortment of authors, D&D (Dungeons & Dragons) items, baked goods, and jewelry.

I’ve made some really good connections, including some that I hope to do business with. I’ve sold more books this weekend than I have at the past two shows, and I now have more people interested in my upcoming newsletter. Quite a few readers are interested in my paranormal romance and mystery books as well.

One of the best things that happened was that the author sitting next to me turned out to be a fountain of information. She told me about several author events, retreats, and more, and gave me contact information for an indie publisher (who I will be contacting first thing Monday).

I’m currently sitting here at my table, listening to the podcast they are recording while writing this post. Since it’s Sunday, most people are either at church or sleeping in because of daylight savings time (I really dislike time changes). Since they are waking up late, we have only had a few attendees come in. Sherry, the author next to me, estimates people will start showing up around 1:30 p.m.-ish. Fingers crossed that we will have a good flow of people coming through today. The event goes until 5:00 p.m. but may wrap up around 4:30, depending on how things are going.

I’m excited about everything I’ve learned and the responses I’ve received. I can’t wait to see how things unfold in the future. I have faith and hope that things will only get better from here.

I’m going to close this short post with a sneak peek at Dangerous Desires. Please, please, please send me a message and let me know what you think of the story. The sneak peek includes Chapter One and the first dream.

As with my blog post, I want to hear what you think. Do you like how it starts, the direction it’s going, and the characters? Is it too slow or too fast?

Let me know what you think because it helps me to be a better writer and I appreciate the feedback!

Also, CONGRATULATIONS to Harpeth View Toastmaster contest attendees for taking first and second place in both the Table Topics Contest and the International Speech Contest at the Area level. Now on to the Division. Congratulations Stephen, Mary, Bryan, and Raphy.

So, until next time… May your days be filled with love, laughter, hugs, and blessings.
