✨ Keep Your Word (Especially to Yourself)

The day completely slipped away from me.

The past few days have been filled with organizing and cleaning, and this evening, I finally sat down to check emails and do a little editing. But as so often happens, I got distracted… then had an appointment… and then—CRAP! I realized I hadn’t written today’s blog post.

Have you ever forgotten to do something, and the moment it hits you—ugh—that sinking feeling?

I considered skipping it. Just posting a simple “Taking today off.” But then I stopped and reminded myself why this is important. Not because you need to read it (though I always love when you do), but because I need to write it.

I made a promise to myself to post every Sunday and Wednesday before midnight.

And here’s what I’ve learned:
When you give your word—especially to yourself—you need to keep it.
Because if you can’t keep your promises to yourself, how can you expect to keep them for anyone else?

“If you can’t look yourself in the mirror, then was it worth it?”
– My Great-Grandmother

That line has stayed with me through so much. It applies to more than just integrity—it touches accountability, consistency, and self-respect.

If you tell someone you’ll do something and then don’t, you’ve let them down… and in many ways, you’ve let yourself down, too. And once that starts, it can snowball. Others may begin to feel they can’t count on you, and worse—you may begin to believe it, too.

Rebuilding trust in yourself takes time. So why not give yourself a head start? Be kind to yourself. Love yourself. Honor your word.

That’s what I’m doing now by writing this.

It’s short, yes—but it’s something.
And sometimes, even something small—especially when it’s done for you, by you—can be as meaningful as an award.🥇 An award called self respect.

Wishing you the rest of the week filled with hugs, love, laughter, and blessings.
Keep your word. And give yourself a little extra love, too. 💜
