Waking Up Creatively!
First off, Happy Mother’s Day to all Mothers Everywhere! This includes dad-moms, grand-moms, fur-moms, and everything in between.💐
So, this morning, I woke up with several “creative” thoughts running rampant in my head. First, about a YouTube Channel I’ve been putting off doing, titled “Stories With Aunt Dorey” or “With Aunt D” (haven’t completely settled on which yet), where I read not only my children’s books but others—giving credit to other authors and bringing attention to the importance of reading to children. Second, a new website dedicated to my children’s books and the YouTube Channel. Then there was the thought: How many times do I publish on both? Links to both my sites? Also, starting a TikTok? And so many other creative ideas flowing like a mighty river waking up the dry, parched land. I LOVE IT!
I also had thoughts for this morning’s blog post swimming amongst all the other ideas.
What helped this spark of creativity—these bountiful ideas? I’m not positive. I think it may have been kick-started yesterday when I had to get up early (5:40ish, which is extremely early for me). While on our way to our Toastmasters Club meeting (yes, I went in person), I had some WOW moments—coming up with an ending for Dangerous Desires. Which continued throughout the day and evening. So much so that I had my tablet in bed with me at 2:00 a.m., writing.
I put on some sleep meditations (guided, subliminal, and one binaural beats) and slept deeply—until my bladder decided I needed to move around 5. After that, I went back to sleep, and my brain seemed to pick up where I left off when I originally went to bed—then started throwing in other ideas with it.
What came from all of this, you may ask???? Well, let me recap…
- Starting the YouTube Channel “Stories with Aunt Dorey”.
- Doing a TikTok for “Stories with Aunt Dorey”.
- Doing a TikTok for my website CreativelyUnlimited.com.
- Creating a separate website for my children’s books.
- Writing this blog today.
- Deciding to publish the YouTube channel twice a week. Decision-making can be the hardest sometimes.
- The TikToks would both be bi-weekly as well (I think… possibly more, or maybe just once a week).
- The biggie… I think I now have an extremely cool ending for Dangerous Desires. (You’ll have to wait for the book to come out!)
All in all, this was a good week. Thursday, I sang at the VA Nursing Home with my friend Mary for Keller-Williams Red Day. I would like to hope the residents enjoyed our performances. KW does really well at giving back to their community, and this was one of those give-backs. While we were singing, other members of KW were doing projects around the facility—like painting, building a new outdoor area, helping to put carpet in the front walkway (?), and several other things. They may be one of the largest real estate companies, but the company and their agents care, and they show this by helping out around their communities.
Then Friday, I had a great meeting with my fellow Toastmasters and new agent. We got to know each other better and had a fun three-hour meeting (fun talk as well as business).
Saturday was my Toastmaster club’s weekly meeting, and it was a good one. We had a guest speaker who was hilarious. Actually, his wife and close friend was supposed to give the speech, but she was sick—so she sent her husband in her place, and he put a different spin on her speech. We should have taped it—he was that funny! After the meeting, my Sweetheart and I had brunch with one of our fellow Toastmaster friends (he and my Sweetie have a podcast together). The food and company were both good, and we were very productive with ideas for the upcoming year—good ideas to share with the incoming officers. Then I had a few meetings once we got home, and I took a long nap, waking up creatively charged.
Anyhow, that all leads into today. Waking up with so many thoughts and feeling inspired has been an amazing feeling.
