Holiday Travel And A Few Tips!🛫

It’s always wonderful to be with loved ones during the holidays. I remember growing up, how everyone would come over to my great-grandparents’ for dinner, and we’d even gather around the tree. Those were some of the good memories sprinkled through the not-so-happy times. Regardless of the past, our present is always the most important. A wise quote (from whom I’m not sure) says, “If you have one foot in the past and one foot in the future, then you are pissing on the present. The present is a great gift.”

This upcoming Christmas, I get to spend with my sister and her family, including my mini-me niece. I’m ecstatic that I get to spend Christmas with them. I don’t remember ever being able to spend a Christmas with my sister Kat, not even when she was little, so this is a treat for all of us.

Since we are going to them, we will be flying to Texas. Here is where the travel part of my blog post comes in. This part I am not ready for yet. I have to clean the house, clean the dogs, do laundry, make sure our dog/house sitter has what they need, write out how to feed the dogs, and then there’s my plant that has to go in and out depending on the temperature. I still have to make sure I have enough of my medications so they don’t run out, and I also have a doctor’s appointment to go to. Let’s not forget packing, which will consist of figuring out what I want to take and wear and then dwindling that down to what I will wear and what I want to carry.

After working for an airport many years ago, I learned a few tips for what to pack and where. For instance, it is best to pack all books and magazines in your carry-on. And as everyone should know, full-size liquids and creams need to go in your checked items, not your carry-on. If you are taking presents, possibly consider sending them ahead of time because depending on what they are, if they are in your checked luggage, they will be unwrapped, and you will have to wrap them again.

Well, I have quite a few things I must get done before our trip, so I will be cutting this message a bit short.

If you have any travel tips, I’d love to hear them. And if you are traveling for the holidays, please be safe and have a great week. I’ll speak with you again over the next few weeks about the holidays, but today, I really do have a lot to get done. Yes, I should have started earlier… days ago would have been ideal.

Till next week, have a great week, and may it be filled with hugs, love, laughter, and blessings.🎄
