Let the New Quarter of Goals Begin!

Hello, my mid-week friends. Yes, a new quarter of goals began today. The five of us met last night for dinner and to set our new goals. We updated our guidelines or rules for the group, and then each of us went through our new or updated goals. This time around, I added in something that I’ve been wanting to do for several years. I also added in a monthly goal. So here we go, my list of goals.

Daily:

1. 10 minutes of writing

2. 10 minutes of art

3. 5 minutes of decluttering/organizing/deleting emails, pictures, or anything digital

Weekly:

1. Eat three salads

2. 25 minutes of exercise – any kind (walking, stretching, video, etc.)

3. 10 minutes of banjo (touching, holding, playing, etc.)

Monthly:

1. Meditate for 15 plus minutes

Quarterly:

1. Diet change to an anti-inflammatory one. At least two meals a day will be anti-inflammatory.

2. Have at least three pieces of art up for sale.

One of the goals I’ve chosen is my banjo. Several years ago, for my birthday, my Sweetheart took me to North Carolina and Gatlinburg, TN. While in Gatlinburg, we stopped by several quaint shops, and one sold dulcimers, banjos, and a few other instruments. I’ve always wanted to learn to play the banjo (actually several instruments), and so for my birthday, my Sweetie surprised me and bought me a beautiful banjo. When we got home, I tried learning on my own, but it didn’t go so well. My beautiful banjo eventually ended up with its own scared spot in my office with other things that I have on my to-do list. So, this quarter, I am making learning the banjo a priority. Hopefully, I’ll be able to play at least one song by the end of the year. 🤞

I will keep you updated on how things go during the quarter. I’m happy to say that the senior dogs will be receiving a donation of $85.00.
