Hope you all are doing well today (no matter what day you are reading this).
Last week, actually the last few weeks, were about changes… i.e., I rearranged my office a bit, changed up the art challenge, changed up my hair a lot, and made a few other adjustments.
This week, I’m taking on some new beginnings—kind of. I’ve registered to audit a few classes at our local community college. Audit because I don’t really care about the paper, but I do want the information.
I say New Beginnings because isn’t every day really a new beginning?
Changes (which I have been embracing) bring about New Beginnings. Good or bad, it is an end of one thing and the start of another.
Let’s take something simple like my hair… I had long red hair with a few (more than I liked) silver strands showing. I wasn’t feeling my best, not looking like I would have liked (or remembered), let alone feeling sexy about myself.
Then, as a birthday gift, my sister treated me to a hair do-over. As a natural redhead, I always stick somewhat close to my color, so of course, I kept a red close to my own. But since there is silver, I wanted to add highlights to blend in and help the look last longer.
We added blonde highlights (a lot of them) and cut my hair short above my shoulders. Now, you wouldn’t think a new haircut would do much, but it can and it did.
I felt like a new person… lighter, younger, surprisingly thinner. I had a bit more pep in my step, and I feel sexier.
Have you ever made a small change that had a big impact on how you felt?
This haircut change, in a way, gave me a New Beginning.
Writing a mid-week blog = new beginning. Starting another book (for me, writing) = new beginning. New painting/drawing = new beginning.
My niece started second grade = new beginning. A friend’s daughter is engaged and having a new baby = a huge new beginning.
We are given the gift of a New Beginning every single day.
I know I’ve wasted many of mine. What about you? How do you handle your beginnings? Whether good or bad, it’s yours to do with as you want.
If you look at it as “bad,” then it will be. It is up to us each and every day to accept our New Beginnings and turn them into something good, or better yet, something Great!
What we believe is what we receive.
So, I sit here on my couch today writing this post because I’m not feeling well (fingers crossed it is only a bad case of allergies and seasons changing), but it’s still a good day.
I went virtually to my Toastmaster club meeting, saw my friends online, my sweetheart brought me my favorite dessert to help me feel better, the dogs are being quiet (for the most part), and I have a place to be comfy and nap.
Personally, for not feeling well, that’s still a great day. My New Beginning today started off on a not-so-great path, but I’ve changed the tone of the day.
My question to you… What does your New Beginning Day look like? Will you make it even better than it started out?
Go have a fabulous day filled with hugs, love, laughter, and blessings.🌻
