Hello and happy Wednesday! Surprisingly, I’m writing a short mid-week post. Monday was my birthday (no, I’m not telling my age! 🤣). Anyhow, some friends joined my sweetheart and me for a birthday dinner. It turns out several of them used to write blogs, and they had a few suggestions for me to try out. One suggestion was to add something mid-week, whether it’s a short post, a quote, or just a quick goals update, leaving Sunday for more in-depth writing. They also suggested posting short reminders throughout the week and a few hours before I publish, to notify readers that my blog is out and ready to be read. So, I’m giving this a “tryout” for a month or two, hoping it will entice more readers to visit my website and explore my books as well.
Now for a slightly funny story… As I mentioned earlier, my birthday was on Monday. When I went to Texas, one of my sister’s gifts to me was a haircut and color. I usually keep my hair close to my natural color (I’m a redhead), but this time I added blonde highlights to make any incoming silver strands harder to notice. I also got my hair cut. I had (keyword: “had”) long hair. I surprised both my sister and my hairdresser by choosing to have it cut slightly above my shoulders. At first, it was shorter than I wanted, but I still liked it. Now, I’m loving it! It’s lighter in both color and weight, and it has a youthful look (definitely what I wanted). Here’s the funny part… I was raised by my great-grandmother and grandmother, so I would watch whatever they watched. One of my favorite actresses was Doris Day (if you don’t know who she is, Google her—she was a fabulous person that spoke out for animals). Anyhow, I was fixing my hair yesterday and realized, “I have a Doris Day haircut.” 🤣 Okay, maybe it’s not that funny, but it was to me.
With that, the theme for this week’s quote is “Change.” This quote is from Charles Darwin:
“It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.”
Be flexible, adaptable, and open to change, because it will happen with or without you. Have a great Wednesday, and I’ll see you again on Sunday!
Hugs and Blessings🌻
