Hello my Sunday Friends,
I am having a fun writer’s dilemma and I could use your opinion. As some of you may or may not know, I am a writer. I, of course, write this weekly blog, but I also write children’s books and am currently working on a cozy mystery. The cozy is mixed with paranormal and romance as well.
My protagonist is a 61-year-young woman with three supernatural love interests: her next-door neighbor, the detective, and the maître d’ at her favorite restaurant.
While writing, I like to imagine what my characters look like, and it was suggested to use actors and actresses as examples. I’ve decided on most of my characters except for the three love interests. There are so many handsome actors to choose from, and I can’t decide which would fit best. This is where I need your help.
I’ve also decided what type of paranormal character the neighbor and detective will be, but I’m still working on the maître d’. So, I’m taking a poll on which actor’s looks will be the base and also what type of supernatural being the maître d’ will be. Are you willing to weigh in and help me decide? If so, message or email me with your vote, and I will add them to the poll.
Here are my top five choices for each. Are you ready?
Next-door neighbor ~ Benjamin Kellen:
- Kevin McKidd
- Luke Bracey
- Andrew Walker
- Adam Demos
- Paul Bettany
Detective ~ Alexander Mathew:
- Kevin McKidd
- Sean Bean
- Jeffrey Dean Morgan
- Michele Morrone
- Mark Ruffalo
Maître d’ ~ Scott Verdugio:
- Will Kemp
- Sean Teale
- Bradley Cooper
- Simone Susinna
- Dan Jeannotte
Now for the supernatural portion ~ what should the maître d’ be?
- Skinwalker
- Alien
- Another Slender Man
- Vampire
- Changeling
- Demon
- Or any other suggestion you may have
If you have any other suggestions, I’m open to hearing them as well. I have to admit writing children’s books is so much easier. They are shorter, and I have so many of them outlined. Plus, they seem to live in my head rent-free. The characters for my adult cozies are a different story, so to speak. They live in my head but have always been in the shadows. Now they want equal status. They want their stories to be told, and I’m ready to tell them—they just take a lot longer. I’m hoping to have my first cozy done by the end of August. Unfortunately, I don’t see that happening, but I’m not giving up. I’ve written almost 12 full chapters, and yesterday I started writing the ending. I often write the ending first and then work backwards from there to see more of the story come together.
With that, I look forward to hearing your ideas. Now for a quick update on my goals: I kept them all week. It hasn’t been easy, but I’ve done it. Only five full weeks left of this quarter’s goals—Yay! I’ve already been thinking about what my goals for next quarter will be. I think I will be changing things up a little.
Have a great holiday weekend and be safe! Wishing you lots of love, laughter, blessings, and hugs. 🌻
