Week four has been tough. I missed a day due to just not wanting to do my goals. I almost missed yesterday’s too. I was ready to post in our group chat that my goals would not be completed as I just didn’t feel like it. Then a little voice spoke up and said, “you can do them, remember they are for your health. Don’t you want to be healthier?” Of course, I answered the little voice with an affirmative YES! So I drank my water, got up, and did a little more than the minimum allotted time (5 mins, I did 10), and meditated without falling asleep. 🥳 I’m realizing that even when I feel crappy, down, or sick (unless it’s bad), I can still do the minimum amount of time for my goals. Drinking the water has been a bigger issue, but if I can get started earlier, then it doesn’t feel so bad.
My biggest issues are time management and getting an earlier start to my day. Being a night owl and having dogs that are early birds don’t work really well, so I HAVE to start getting to bed earlier. I was proud of myself last night for going to bed by 12:30 a.m., so I started reading a little. Next thing I know it’s 1:30 a.m., not good. Tonight I’m going to shoot for actually being asleep by 12:00 a.m., so fingers crossed.
Now for some non-goals chat… Yesterday I went to another author signing at The Spine Bookshop. The author was Romance Author Donna R. Madden, I highly recommend her books. She is a fabulous person and author. Another author I spoke with at the bookshop last week was J.L. Burrows, and she writes Christian fantasy. Both of these authors and Lindsay Schultz, the owner of The Spine Bookshop, have been so insightful and helpful for me as a new writer. Great people!
Isn’t it a great feeling when you meet people for the first time, and they are welcoming and kind? It gives a warm heartfelt feeling to meet people like that. At our Toastmasters meeting this week, the theme was Kindness, and the theme question was “what type of kindness do you like to receive and how do you like to show kindness to others?” It was great hearing the different answers. February 11th through 17th is Kindness Week, and the 17th is random acts of kindness day. So, I challenge each of you to do some sort of kindness each day (especially during Kindness Week). Anything from smiling at random people to leaving positive affirmations or thoughts on a post-it note on bathroom mirrors at restaurants, churches, gas stations, or even your home mirror. Anywhere someone might see it and be inspired, smile, or need that positive boost.
Well, I’ve taken up enough of your time for today, so I’ll close out so you can get an early start on your random acts of kindness. Oh, and they don’t only have to be to people. Animals need love and kindness too. Go share some LOVE! ❤️
As always, thank you for your time and consideration. Take care, please subscribe and comment or send me an email.
Hugs, Love, Laughter, and Blessings to You! 🌻
