Do You Exercise or Diet during the Holidays?

If you’ve read my earlier post, you know about my health issues. It seems a diet change and exercise might help. But here we are, it’s Christmas time! All those fun, fancy, and amazingly tasty foods we save for this season are being served. It was tough enough missing out on those caramel apples during Halloween (they only seem to show up then, and I love them!). Now I’m faced with a decision: dive into all the tempting goodies and start the new regimen after the holidays, or take the healthy route now? What would you do? I bet it’s a tough call for many.

So, here’s my plan: I’ll ease into the new diet slowly. I’ll permit myself one (but no more than two) “naughty” treats a day. My personal challenge is to have a day or two without any naughty indulgences. On Christmas, I’ll allow myself bites of several treats, but I’ll skip a full piece of cake. This way, I’m not going overboard but still enjoying the festivities. I’m not depriving myself; I’m gradually steering towards a much healthier way of eating—a path to a happier and healthier me. I plan to stick around for a long, long time, driving my mini-me niece crazy.
