What do you consider to be the Christmas Spirit? Is it a feeling you get once a year around the holidays? Does it only come with the birth of Christ? Or is it because you will be getting and giving presents?
The definition of Christmas Spirit is to treat others with respect and dignity, as well as to put others first before yourself and embrace togetherness.
I would think that this shouldn’t only be “The Christmas Spirit” but something we strive for all year round. The togetherness with family and friends that we seem to wait for during the holidays doesn’t have to be limited to just Thanksgiving and Christmas. Why not sprinkle the so-called Christmas Spirit throughout the year and do our best to feel and enjoy it every day?
I know that it may not be possible to hold onto that feeling every day. Life has its ups and downs, good days, bad days, not to mention sick days and possibly worse things that may interrupt or put a major dent in our efforts to hold onto a “Christmas Spirit.” But can’t we at least give it a try? Wouldn’t it be better for us and our loved ones if we tried?
Even if having a bad day or feeling sick, finding a silver lining may be what helps us turn the day around or feel better. Each day is our choice on how we want it to go. Giving gifts is fun, and receiving them is just as, if not sometimes better, so why not appreciate the best gift we are given each and every day – A New Beginning?
Each day is a gift that we are given, and we might want to show our gratitude by enjoying it and sharing the “Christmas Spirit” every day.
Just a thought from somewhat of a Grinch.
Hugs, Love, and Blessings to One and All!🎄
